MASURF FS-330 Furniture Polish is a low cost, stable, single vessel
formulation that does not require homogenization. The addition of
very small amounts of MASURF FS-330 significantly improves the gloss
and rub-out performance of this formula. MASURF FS-330 is very efficient
and effective at lowering interfacial tension to change microemulsion
performance characteristics in this formula and others.

When formulating Hard Surface cleaners, the acronym "TACT" should
be kept in mind: T (Time), A (Agitation), C (Concentration) and T
(Temperature). Leverage any component of TACT for improved cleaning
performance and efficiency. MASURF FS-1030 is effective at reducing
the required contact time (T) by increasing wetting performance and
penetration, and increasing the effective concentration (C) by lowering
the interfacial tension between the detergent surfactants, monoethanolamine
and soil.
Oven & Grill surfaces become encrusted with an impenetrable char of
burned-on organic deposits of fats, oils and particulate food deposits.
MASURF FS-1030 was found to improve the efficiency of the formulation
through faster softening and loosening of the oven & grill deposits
for easy removal.

The performance enhancements that MASURF FS-1030 can bring to a formulation
can allow a formulator the use of less hazardous ingredients without
sacrificing performance. MASURF FS-1030 is very efficient and effective
at increasing wetting performance and penetration, and increasing
the efficiency of cleaning ingredients by lowering the interfacial
tension between the cleaning ingredients and target soil.

Formulation Guidelines
We find the best way to utilize Macat AEC in hypochlorite cleaners is
to follow this order of addition:
- Charge water to the vessel
- Add Macat AEC and other surfactants/ingredients
- Add NaOH (if even to neutralize the Macat AEC)
- Finally, add hypochlorite solution
When we try to troubleshoot for a customer, we typically like to know
- The concentration of the hypochlorite
- Quality of the hypochlorite used
- Concentration and ratios of Macat AEC used in the formulation
As most formulators have learned, when formulating with hypochlorite,
the greater the initial hypochlorite concentration the greater its
fall. We characterize the quality of the hypochlorite in the market
as relating to the NaCl and NaOCl content. An acceptable standard
quality of approx. 130 - 150 g/L NaOCl with approx. 13 - 15% of NaCl
is recommended. Generally, the higher the content of NaCl in the hypochlorite
solution the lower the phase stability of the resultant formulation.
We have found that some formulations, and in particular the solubilizing
of some fragrances, benefit from a blend of Macat AEC surfactants. This
is perhaps where we can help if the TFC-S doesn't perform alone.
